Scratchcard Logger
This program was purely designed so I could log my scratch card addiction (lol) but I felt like other people may find a use in it so I’ve decided to release it.
It allows the user to input the price paid for a card and the amount won (if none; 0). The program will then work out the total amount of money you’ve spent since logging started and it will also work out your total profit (winnings).
The program will save and load your scratch card details from a text file called “Logger.txt” which is created in the directory of the program.
It saves and loads automatically.
YouTube Video Downloader

This application will download videos from YouTube in .flv format to anywhere you specify on your hard drive. It’s portable too!

I did not code this, credits are in the code if decompiled, I only created the visual front for the program.
My new project; TextLife. It’s a Real Lives clone.
Similization 0.0.0.3
This version features quite a few additions and bugfixes:
Tweaks
- You now start off with 15,000,000 rather than 10,000,000
Bug Fixes
- Fixed all the rates not working out right
- You now can’t employ more than your current population
- The amount of employed won’t exceed the amount of current jobs
Additions
- You can now set the currency you want to use and name your Country
- Added the Job Centre. This allows you to set the benefit rate, if it’s too high then the employed will quit their job for the easy life, otherwise, if it’s too low then it will cause unhappiness because the unemployed will not be able to live off the benefits
- Added the Airport Terminal. This will be a huge job and economy boost for any country, although it adds the threat of plane crashes which can obviously threaten lives.

Similization Download
I’ve recently uploaded Similization to a website for download for some friends, but I’m going to post the link on here.
The version I have uploaded is 0.0.0.2 which features an update checker, though I will post changelogs on here when I’ve uploaded them.
This is where all versions will be uploaded to:
The Future of Similization
I’ve been working hard on Similization these last few days and using suggestions and my own plans, this is how it’s turning out.
To be planned is more buildings that enable further options e.g. Criminals won’t be jailed until you have a Courthouse. Transportation is also being thought about, though this idea may be binned. It involves building roads and managing the amount of cars etc. Not a fun gameplay aspect!
I’ve created a barebones diplomacy system. There will be a screen that displays all of the country’s relation towards you and will allow you to set your relations towards that country.
When this system is fully implemented your decisions in managing your own country may upset other countries, it may even make them happy!
There will be random relation ‘opportunities’ that will randomly appear that may involve you lending money, building something specific or changing rates. Your decision will affect relations.
With relationships comes war, this will be added in after the relations system is stable. War will involve building units and structures and using them to take down the opponent’s country ‘health’. This could possibly change.

Similization
I’ve been working on a text-based strategy game for the past few days. It features:
- A complex economy system which closely resembles real life. Player can set Tax and VAT rates.
- An unlockable building system. Some buildings only become available after certain criteria is met.
- A ‘news’ system where it will alert you if a major event happens, e.g. Filled prisons, protests / riots about tax, over-employment (might be redone)
- A happiness meter that captures the general public’s feelings.
- A working criminal system (which impacts the game) with criminals being arrested and released. The player can set the duration of the jail time and whether a death penalty is installed.
Things for the future would be:
- The ability to declare war on another country, training soldiers and creating vehicles and other military buildings.
- More Commercial and Employment buildings both having a unique purpose.
- More national services such as Hospitals (Doctors) and Fire Stations to make an effect on the game.

Consilio et Animis: BETA 2
The additions to beta 2 are:
- The ability to view your stats from any zone
- Combat tips displayed at the start of combat
- The rare chance for a monster to miss you when attacking
I will no longer be providing ‘major’ updates for this game, though over time I will try and add cross-platform support because at the moment it will only work properly on a Windows operating system.

This Week
I’ve had a few ideas suggested on how to improve the game, these are:
- Combat instructions displayed without the user typing in a wrong command
- The ability to view your character’s stats at any point in the game.
I will also be adding a few more zones with new monsters and activities e.g. scoping and other features.
The ability to save the game will also be a priority.
